Sometimes, simplicity and complexity are not mutually exclusive. I find that I can "lose myself" in the simple-but-complex tracery of an arboreal canopy at dusk. At such times the silhouette of branches against a deep-blue sky is visually exciting in a way one cannot see in broad daylight. For a very different take on this same subject (the same group of trees), see Image #0970. And for an interpretation along the same lines at sunrise, see Image #0901.
