It is tempting to think of Zion National Park only in terms of Zion Canyon, where most visitors go. But there is much more to the park than that, places such as Lava Point and, in the northwest corner of the park, Kolob Canyons. A short distance below the main Kolob viewpoint, there is a pull-out that affords a fine view of these wonderful rocks which, when my wife Joyce and I were there in early April, still held a blanket of snow. It often pays to take "the road less traveled," to paraphrase Robert Frost.
