This newly constructed community attempts to restore many of the desirable attributes of historic towns, while taking full advantage of the technological advantages of today. In creating this image, I was first challenged by the need to find an elevated view of the fountain and surrounding garden, to "open it up," visually. The solution was to use my ten-foot-high tripod and ladder. The existing light was excellent, but the sky was not. So I added a new sky from my archive of sky photos, which seemed to complement the architecture. My experience with landscape photography helped me to determine the correct adjustments to the brightness, color and contrast of the sky, to harmonize with the lighting of the subject and create an overall impression that is natural.
