Often, a single architectural element can go a long way toward illustrating the design quality of a whole building. Here, the forms, structural elements, colors and liberal use of glass do indeed reflect the creativity expressed throughout this facility. To make this image, it was important to wait until the sun moved far enough to the west that the cross-shadows added emphasis to the line of the staircase; the shadows are an important part of the composition. By using a very wide-angle lens, I was able to show the entire staircase, together with the door. And by using high-dynamic-range techniques, I was able to capture the full range of light. |
