You can imagine the range of light in an auditorium. No camera can capture this in a single exposure. To represent the ambience faithfully, as the eye would see it, I had to combine some six different exposures using a technique known as "high-dynamic-range" photography. Most of this work occurs at home on my computer, but it is necessary to visualize the final result at the time I set up and capture the image on-site, and work toward that result every step of the way. |
