I try to make every image work hard, to tell as much of the story as possible. In this instance, I wanted to show how the media center relates to the balcony, how the balcony allows students to move from one wing of the school to another, how a large amount of glass offers a sense of openness and reduces the amount of artificial light (and energy) required, and how structure is used creatively as a visual design element, along with other factors, such as the use of color, line and texture. I felt this particular angle told the story well and had good energy. And by selecting the right shutter speed -- not too fast, not too slow -- I was able to show the students convincingly, yet they were blurred just enough to show motion and make them unidentifiable.
