The Smoky Mountains are well known for the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere (their relative humidity), from which the name "Smoky" derives. My goal with this image was to capture the broad sweep of these ancient, gentle mountains and the effects of moisture in the atmosphere and rising as mist from the ground. This is seen -- and felt -- best in the early light of dawn. This panorama was generated by stitching together photographs taken at several different angles.
