The Christmas of 1986, my mother gave five quilts -- one to each of my three kids, my brother, and me. What a special Christmas! This quilt, as with Quilt #3, is also a Dresden Plate pattern, and is the one she gave me. She had pieced this quilt top in the early 1930s, before she was married, but didn't quilt it until 50 years later, after raising a family and working very hard on our farm in Marion County, north of Columbus, Ohio.
